Self-care has become a buzzword in recent years, often associated with luxurious spa days, skincare routines, and pampering sessions. While spa days sound great and are examples of self-care, self-care isn’t always glamorous. True self-care goes beyond the surface. Self-care is about nurturing your mental, emotional, and physical well-being in ways that resonate with you personally. As a self-proclaimed skincare junkie, weight loss solutionist and wellness advocate, I understand the allure of indulging in beauty rituals. After all, I use and share plant based, clean and holistic skincare, weight loss and wellness self-care solutions every single day. However, I believe it’s important to redefine self-care and recognize that self-care comes in many forms. Let’s pull back the curtain and explore the true essence of self-care which isn’t always glamorous but it’s always worth it.

Self-care is not limited to expensive treatments or elaborate routines. Many people associate self-care with glamour but self care is about finding moments of joy, peace and relaxation in your everyday life. It could be as simple as curling up with your favorite book, catching up with an old friend, going for a walk, taking a nap, listening to a podcast, savoring a hot cup of tea or losing yourself in a binge-watching weekend of your favorite shows. These seemingly ordinary activities hold the real power to rejuvenate your spirit and recharge your energy. Self-care is deeply personal and it looks different for everyone. Self-care isn’t always glamorous but it’s always worth it.

Although it may look on the surface that my self-care is limited to my skincare and wellness routines and sharing the amazing products that I love, but my self-care isn’t limited to just glamour. I love to watch my television shows. Every morning (no matter what the weather is) I enjoy my morning coffee in my outdoor gazebo and you can find me in the same gazebo at night unwinding from a long day while sipping my nightly calming drink and scrolling social media. I love to listen to my music in the car and sing like I’m on an episode of carpool karaoke and most of all I love spending time with my family and friends. Self-care isn’t always about glamour but that’s the real beauty of self-care – it’s tailored to meet your unique needs and preferences. Self-care is deeply personal, and it looks different for everyone.

Self-care is a holistic practice that encompasses more than just skincare and manicures. It’s about prioritizing your well-being, nourishing your soul, and finding moments of bliss in the midst of life’s chaos. So, I encourage you to reflect on what brings you joy, peace, and contentment. What activities make your heart sing and your spirit soar? That is your self-care. Embrace it, cherish it, and make it a non-negotiable part of your routine. Remember, self-care isn’t always glamorous, but it is ALWAYS worth it.
